Klang Reise 002: Lady GaGa's The Edge Of Glory

I just love Lady Gaga. Her courage to pursue her music and the crazy fashion are beyond words. Despite many criticisms that pull her down, the little monsters (Lady GaGa calls her fans little monsters denoting them as her children being the Mother Monster) will forever support their Mother Monster.

I don’t really consider myself as a little monster but I find her music really interesting. It has a hook and unlike other artists, she can do live performances. That is one charm I look for in every artist out there. Like my favorite KPOP music, most of the singers and bands that I know can go live singing and dancing for their fans.

Her fashion is very unique and avant garde. Also, her shoes seen on Bad Romance video were designed by Filipino shoe designer Kermit Tesoro. Proud Filipino, hands up!

Anyway, my klang reise entry is about her song The Edge of Glory. The music video is different from her usual grandeur gothic-like and dark concepts. But one thing that gave me a hook on this song was when a video prepared by UST for the neo-centennial graduates (like me) used this song as background music. When it was played, we really felt we’re on the edge of glory as we are about to exit the Arch of Centuries. For four years, we avoided that just not to spoil the tradition. Hihihi.

So here's the original. Can't find the UST AVP. :))

Memory 13: Reconnecting Old Lines

I went to my alma mater to get my graduation rites pictures. Before I went to Red Images, I had a large cold milk tea from Simple Line. It was refreshing and I decided to sit first at the AB Pavilion and enjoy my milk tea. I missed UST. I missed St. Raymund's Building. I missed every place in the campus. Everything. I missed them

I was just enjoying my milk tea when a batchmate came out of nowhere and I felt the rush. It's like everything came back to me...the days of school and hectic schedules. Everything. I missed them.

We had a chat and talked about anything under the sun. This is what I missed. Reconnecting old lines...the lines that felt like it was already gone but now, it felt fresh and new. I missed it.

I walked with her to another milk tea shop. It was cold inside and it relieved us from the heat. We chatted for a few minutes and then she left for driving classes.

I bumped into another classmate who's on her way to submit requirements for employment. She had a puff and I refrained from having one. We talked about life after graduation and our job hunting summer. But she had to leave right away so I said my goodbyes and went back inside the campus.

Familiar places. Familiar faces. I gave them smiles from my heart. It felt good to see them smile back at me.

I met another classmate and we walked together to get our graduation rites pictures. We refreshed our memories even under the heat. We missed the days where we would spend the whole day in school and build more memories inside the classroom. Everything. I missed them.

After getting the pictures, we waited for an FX to Cubao since it's really hot and we couldn't bear it anymore. So we waited and finally, after 45 minutes, we're on our way to Cubao. We chatted eagerly like it was our first time -- catching up and reliving memories.

Upon reaching our destination, we parted ways. It was a good feeling. I know that even if we all went through a lot, I could still call them my friends.

Memory 11: Something To Be Proud Of

Don't know why I am into arts but one thing's for sure, I love to express myself in any way possible -- song, dance, acting, writing, and even texting. :)) But for this Thomasian and Filipino designer, he's not just to express but also to impress people with his craft -- fashion design.

Now that he's entering the international scene thru America's Next Top Model, we Pinoys should be proud of him. Francis Libiran will bring pure Filipino talent into the world. As a fellow Thomasian, I'm proud that I came from the University with him. He's my sunbae (senior in Korean). Hihihi.

Here's the video of the photo shoot and interviews with Michael Carandang (Producer, America's Next Top Model), Anne Curtis, Francis Libiran, and the people who worked hard for this project.
